Shooting Austin

Austin is hot. He's hot and he's new to the fashion world which means he's hot and nice. Here's a few pics from a 15 minute shoot we did. Tell me this boy isn't supposed to be a star...

World Premier of Hawaii 5-0

I'm not the paparazzi type of photographer, not that there's anything wrong with that (except for the invasion of people's privacy, car chases, etc., etc., etc...) but hey, that's not my style. Anyway, when a friend who does PR asked me if I wanted to shoot this, I said, why not? Sounds like fun. It was! Kevin and I went (he protected my gear) and had a blast! Around 10,000 people came to Waikiki Beach to witness the premier of the the new Hawaii 5 -0 show and it was great. Special thanks to Erika for asking me! :D Chee Hoo! Pictured is me having fun in the madness, Daniel Dae Kim, Alex O' Loughlin, Scott Caan, and Grace Park, the stars of the new show. I hope it has much success!

Michelle More Williams for DiG Magazine

The day I shot Michelle was another freezing cold California afternoon. I felt bad that I asked her to get in the water and get her hair wet but it was just a better look for the shot. She was a great sport and didn't complain. Michelle is one of the prettiest girls I've seen and has amazing skin. She's 1/4 Japanese and I never knew this until the day I saw her without sunglasses! She has played on the AVP tour since I can remember; and I was always too shy to ask her to shoot with me. I'm glad we finally did, and Michelle, I'm sorry it was so cold that day! You look amazing though. It was worth it.

Shooting Misty May Treanor for DiG Magazine

I was so excited to shoot Misty May Treanor for DiG Magazine. Not only is she a two time Olympic gold medalist in the sport of beach volleyball, but it was really the first time that I had a chance to speak with her other than the occasional "Hi" at tournaments. She's really wonderful and such a strong person who really seems to know what she wants and goes after it without any fear. From the conversation we had, she sounds like she wants to start a family now which is why I chose this photo of her lounging and looking relaxed. I wish her and her hubby the best of luck in their lives! Thanks, Misty! Come see us in Hawaii!

Kristin for DiG Magazine

When the beautiful Kristin showed up to be shot for DiG Magazine I asked her, "How many times a week do you work out?" Her answer, "Oh, I haven't been working out at all, I'm too busy studying for the Bar Exam right now." Humph. Beauty and brains and not an ounce of fat on her. Life just isn't fair sometimes. It was a real treat meeting this spark plug of a woman, and shooting her was a lot of fun and completely effortless too.

Shooting Saralyn for DiG Magazine

So I've just arrived in California and it is freezing cold here. Okay, maybe not freezing cold, but it's a big climate change from Hawaii. "June gloom" has come into July, and the marine layer makes it about 63 degrees. I had a quick deadline come up for DiG Magazine and they wanted me to shoot the beautiful Saralyn Smith. She's an AVP athlete and more than that, she's super sweet and very smart. (Hello, and single for any AMAZING guys out there.) She was a trooper and got into the cold ocean and didn't complain once even when we both got hammered with waves. (The camera was safe.) Thanks, Saralyn!

Miss Hawaii 2009

So I was super excited to work with Raeceen Wolford and feature her in DiG magazine's first issue of 2010. What a beautiful soul and wonderful woman, and a pageant queen as well! I am sure life has many wonderful things in store for this amazing soul. We shot on a quiet beach in the Kahala area. Just gorgeous.

Glam Punk

Only a few people know this about me, but I was a punk rocker when I was a teenager and living in Paris. I don't mean whatever "Goth" is, (that came much later, but not for me) I mean Corrosion of Conformity, Dead Kennedy's, and Firehouse punk. It was gritty, fun and I loved the clothes and music; not to mention my very first boyfriend was the guitarist in the band White Cross. (Do I really want to remember this?) I was really happy this season when I saw a lot of punk influences coming back in fashion. The spikey bracelets and jewelry, cigarette jeans, and crazy hair. It reminds me of a much more carefree time and attitude. And no, I never had a mohawk...but not for lack of wanting one. Patricia Field, you're still one of my heroes.

Volleyball Magazine Shoot

So I really enjoyed working for Volleyball Magazine for their premier swimsuit edition. The editor gave me creative freedom, Oakley provided all of the wardrobe, and for a week I got to shoot in one of my favorite locations on Oahu. Sorry, it's a secret! My hubby Kevin got a full page as well as volleyball athlete Eyal Zimet and two other beautiful models; one of which is a friends daughter and who I think is absolutely gorgeous. Thanks, VB Mag!

The Muse - Vanessa

Vanessa has been my muse since the first time I saw her on the beach years ago. Back then she was shy and had low self esteem. Now she's a working model with confidence. You go, girl! She is beautiful inside and out. I wish her much success in the industry, she definitely has what it takes.
Believe me, I know.

Black and White with Kate

I just love this girl, Kate. She's from Virginia like me (yay!) a strawberry blonde (yay!) I had always wanted to test her and was happy when I finally had the chance. She was a great sport considering I had her climbing into trees barefoot and very professional as a model. I had been thinking about doing a black and white story with black and white fashion for a long time. Glad I finally did it.

First blog ever.

So I've decided to start a blog. Everyone else has a blog, why not me. Yesterday I shot a friends three kids in my studio for a Father's Day present. It was a lot of fun but man, do kids take a lot of energy! I had fun though, and they were super cute.

It's been a wonderfully crazy month for me so far work wise. Three weeks ago I was traveling to Maui, the island of Hawaii and here on Oahu working on a Hertz Neverlost commercial, and for the past two weeks I've been working for Disney. Gotta love it.
